Kristen and Gabby -Best Friends Forever

Kristen is my daughter, and Gabby is her best friend. They have been friends now for 4 years now. Kristen is 9, Gabby is 7. Wherever one was, you would usually find the other. Gabby has even gone with us to relatives for Christmas Day..lol Gabby will be moving to Jacksonville,Florida in May.This is going to be hard on all of us.. She certainly will be missed. Her grandparents are our neighbors, so we should get to visit with her when she comes to see them. They are already dreading the upcoming event of separating.. We will keep in touch . They are going to write and e-mail often.

Good friends must not always be together; It is the feeling of oneness when distant That proves a lasting friendship.

Cemetary Play?

Well, another Sunday.. it's raining,so the kids are inside. Sure will be glad for the warm sun to come around. It probably will come while I'm at work during the day. Let's see. Spring Break is over, so the kids go back to school. This last stretch usually goes by before summer.. Since Jonah and Kristen both will be playing ball, Will need to get things ready.. Uniforms, schedules put on my computer here and at work.

As far as Memories.. Oh yes, I do have one.

My dad was a Baptist preacher.. We lived in the parsonage until I was 4 years old when my parents split.(yes, he was a preacher, but human, )Anyway..... The parsonage was right next door to the church and the church had a fenced in cemetary. They let me play inside the fence, because we lived on the highway, so the fence came in handy for a child to have a big yard. A CEMETARY...lol.. It was really neat for me .. All the headstones out there, and there were even some that had marble slab with an awning. It was like little play houses in a few places. Momma said I had imaginary friends..lol
I wonder if some of those were spirits? .oohhhhhhhhhhh. That would be neat..lol

I know I never have been afraid of ghosts.... I have wished for ghosts before.
Ones from lost loved ones.
Wished I could talk to them again..
See them smile..... hear them laugh....
Get some advise from some of them......lol

Have been afraid of living folks, but never ghosts.......

Friends Over

My kids are on Spring Break this week, and they asked if their friends, Bennie and Kristen Mac can spend the night. I said yes. What harm could it be. There is no school, and their Mom is the sitter for my kids during the week. Bennie is diabetic so we have to make sure to have supper on time and he gives himself a shot. We just have to check again before he goes to bed to see if he needs another shot. I keep plenty of "sugar-free" stuff around for when he comes over. So now , I Have 4 pre-teens in the house.. The girls are in my daughter's room, playing make-up and dress-up. The boys are playing Ninetendo, fooseball, and listening to CD's. All seems to be going reasonably well. Don't have any of my personal memories from childhood to share at this time.. They are making some for themselves.. It's been a long day.. Nothing major happened at work, but it was busy. Not much more to write about tonight. I will be glad when ball season begins.. We love to have a game to go to after a long day at work and school...

The first picture is Kristen Mac, (my daughter's best friend) and our beagle,Crackers.

The second Picture is my little cheerleader daughter,Kristen and her Bestfriend, Kristen Mac. (Since they both are named Kristen, I called them Jac and Mac. They seem to love that..lol)

The last picture is Bennie and My son, Jonah.

Childhood Memories

Ok. This blog is mostly for me to write down my memories for my kids.. So I'm going to start with a memory I have when I was about 2 years old. This was before my parents divorced.. My Papaw Little, who was about 80 at the time, used to take me out the barn with him, to feed the chickens.. One day , we were in the barn and I let the dog in, and it killed one of the chickens.. I started crying, But Papaw soothed my tears. He told me we were going to have that chicken for supper anyway...

Then the next memory is when Momma and Daddy had split. I was 4 years old. momma packed our stuff and 4 kids up and we headed to Houston,Texas from North Mississippi... We got to My Mamaw & Papaw Adams (momma's parents) in Texas. We lived with them until Momma got a rent house for us to live in. We would go back and forth on holidays and in the Summer for the next few years to visit Daddy In North Mississippi...

One Christmas , we were going back home from the visit to Dad's. My oldest sister was about 19, Her fiance who was in the Air Force, had been home on leave from Vietnam. He was riding back to Houston with us, and there he was going to spend a few days then leave to go back. Well, Our Old Oldsmobile's motor blewup in the Delta of Mississippi.. Out in the middle of nowhere.. Now, we had to call Daddy and he could only wire us enough money to catch a bus to Houston. So all 5 of us walked to the bus station , from the service station that the car was towed to... The next bus was not going to leave until the next morning. This was about 8pm. so there we were.. We had very little money after we had purchased the bus tickets. There was a Holiday Inn JR.... it was trailers hooked together...lol... so we got two trailers between the 5 of us.. My brother Steve, slept on a cot. Then my two sisters slept in the one trailer..very small regular bed..Since I was 4 at the time, they waited til I was asleep then put me in the room with the boys.. of course, now My sister and My brother-in-law have been married 35 years..lol My brother in law is more of a brother because he's been around nearly all of my life..They used to take me to the dairy bar on dates with them when I was a toddler..lol
anyway, back to the story... since we didn't have much money, my oldest sister bought a jar of peanut butter and a loaf of bread, then we went into the restaurant. We ordered cokes all around, then when the waitress wasn't looking, she fixed us all peanut butter sandwiches... I don't care for peanut butter to this day..lol
The next morning, we got on the greyhound bus and preceded on our way to Houston,Texas. I still remember that ride. The longest of my life.. To this day, I do not like to ride a bus......

Quiet Today..Time to Breathe

All quiet at home.. Just me.. These occasions are rare.. The kids and Husband are gone to pick out the new puppy. A Chinese pug. We should be able to bring it home in about 8 weeks or less. I have to admit that I am excited. The kids will be fighting over a name, I'm sure.. As long as they don't just call it Dog..lol I have been researching Pugs on the internet, and getting advice from the local RP gang, so we should be OK..... The kids are on Spring Break this week, so I don't have to do the usual "lay out the school clothes for the coming week "routine. Husband will be back on the road tomorrow. I'll be back at work and the kids will be at the babysitters. They love that, because the sitter has children their ages and even a couple of babies she keeps. She told me yesterday that my kids are a big help to her when she is watching after the little ones too... I wish I could take some time off to be with them this week, but I will get to be off around Easter, so that's not too long.
I sure do need that vacation..and SOON... I'll just have to wait til June for my first week of Vacation. I'm planning this year to go to the beach.....

My First Blog

I've never been a writer, and I don't usually share my thoughts. But I see that it might be stress relieving.I'm sure I'll make the usual spelling error.. I got by school mostly in Music ,Drama and Art classes, So English and Language were NOT my best subjects..
My life seems dull at the moment. It has had it's moments however, and as I get used to writing, I'm sure more and more of it will come out on paper. There seems to be a void in my memory when it comes to some of my childhood. How can that be? I remember things from when I was 2 and 3 years old. But then it gets harder..
Some things come to me sometimes. Like if I smell a certain kind of cookie that they baked in the lunch room at the elementary school, I think about riding my bike to school in Houston,Texas when I was in 2nd grade. I think about getting the empty coke bottles off the side of the road, because they will give you a nickel, dime and sometimes a quarter for them , if you find those large pint size bottles.

My kids are my life right now.. My son, Jonah is 11 and My daughter, Kristen is 9.
I will sign both of them up for baseball/softball in a couple of weeks. that will keep us really busy.
I have worked full-time as a sales/claim rep for a Large Insurance Company for 17 years now. My husband is an Over-the-Road Truck driver.
Well, this is just an introduction, so I don't want to bore anyone. I will try to post what comes to mind. Maybe there is something calming about opening up.. I'm gonna try it.......
